WingSwept Wins National Archives Contract

WingSwept to Work With Office of Inspector General to Develop Case Tracking System

RALEIGH (October 5, 2005) - WingSwept Technologies, Inc. (WingSwept), a leading IT consulting company specializing in Web and database development, has secured its' first direct federal contract. The Office of Inspector General (OIG), an independent office within the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), selected WingSwept to develop an investigative case management and tracking system for use by investigators.

"We are very happy to have been selected by NARA/OIG as a partner to develop their capabilities to accurately track and manage their investigations," said WingSwept President Jay Strickland. "We have previous experience in building a similar system for another OIG and feel that this is just a natural extension for our staff's Subject Matter Expertise."

The 1988 amendment to the Inspector General Act of 1978 added the National Archives and Records Administration, along with 32 other agencies, to the list of agencies with statutory Inspectors General. The Office of Inspector General was formally established at NARA in April 1989. The mission of the NARA Inspector General is to help NARA ensure ready access to essential evidence by providing high quality audits and investigations. The agency is also charged with serving as an independent internal advocate for efficiency and effectiveness.
